Course Description

Knitters' Sampler

May 04, 2009

Course Number: ARTS1071

Section Number: 41

Instructor: Fiona Ellis ·

Please note: This course is not suitable for beginners. Instruction is suitable for intermediate to advanced skill levels. You must be able to knit and purl with ease.

Other needlework disciplines create samplers to practice the necessary skills and improve understanding of the techniques being worked. This course provides this valuable opportunity for knitters. Instruction will enable you to `read' your work and will cover not only the basic techniques but also how each achieves their end result. You will be guided through a worksheet for each technique and then encouraged to make modifications or devise similar patterns of your own. You will produce valuable reference samples and the beginnings of an heirloom blanket, while no longer blindly following instructions without understanding.
