Energy Conservation Week

Plans are underway for Fleming College to participate in the provincial government's Energy Conservation Week, May 25-31.

With a goal to cut energy consumption across the province over the long-term, the week is a way to raise awareness about ways for Ontarians to conserve - at home and in the workplace.

Energy Conservation Week is organized by the Ontario Power Authority and Ontario's Chief Energy Conservation Officer, Peter Love.

According to the web site: http://www.energyconservationweek.ca/ energy conservation is vital to Ontario's future.

"To keep our power grid healthy, Ontarians will need to reduce their energy consumption by 6,300 megawatts (MW) by 2025 - that is equivalent to taking one in five electricity consumers off the power grid," the web site states.

Stay tuned for upcoming Energy Conservation Week events taking place at Fleming.
