Tom Campbell returned to Canada in 1982 after working for many years in London, England, where he received a Fine Arts Degree in Painting from Camberwell School of Art (1974), a school reknowned for its figurative tradition. Having been raised in a theatrical family, he first made a living painting sets for theatre and film in England. Returning to Canada, he was determined to devote all of his time to painting and sculpture. In 1985 he became a gallery artist at the Bau Xi Gallery (Toronto, Vancouver) where he continues solo exhibitions. During the past 28 years, Campbell has participated in many solo and group exhibitions, the last being Main St. at the John B. Aird Gallery. In more recent years Campbell has taught a number of classes at Sheridan College and continues to teach Painting and Life Painting at the Toronto School of Art.
