Njacko Backo was born into a family of established musicians and dancers and began playing percussion and making instruments at age 3. He started with the hand drum (Toumkak), Kalimba and African Harp (Zaakoua) and has not stopped since! An enthusiastic and dynamic educator and performer, Njacko has released nine albums with his band Kalimba Kalimba, as well as an instructional DVD for his drum students. In addition to regular drum classes in his studio, Njacko is a regular instructor with the Royal Conservatory of Music and Mariposa in the Schools. www.njackobacko.com
