Jacqui Clarkson is a threads and fibre artist/teacher working with guilds in the US and Canada. She has taught at cross-stitch festivals, trade shows, needlework shops, the Embroiderers Guild of America, and the American Needlepoint Guild at its national seminars. Jacqui has authored correspondence courses, cyber-workshops, and numerous articles for magazines, and has participated in four books dealing with different aspects of needlework. Commissions have included oversized ornaments for the Christmas tree in the Blue Room of the White House, needlework pieces in support of World Aids Day, and private commissions. Jacqui teaches various skill levels and encourages her students to explore their own creativity, review previously learned techniques and rise to the challenge of learning new skills. "Mucking about" is a well-used phrase with Jacqui! The two new things that Jacqui is currently involved in are The Appraisal Program for Needlework, and she is participating with the Plimoth Plantation Embroidery Project by helping with some stitching of the seventeenth century woman's embroidered jacket that is being recreated.
