The Centre for Alternative Wastewater Treatment (CAWT) promotes constructed wetlands and other innovative forms of wastewater treatment through applied research, education, and demonstration projects.
Located at Fleming College in Lindsay, Ontario, Canada, CAWT is at the centre of the school's state-of-the-art Environmental Technology wing. CAWT facilities include:
- Outdoor sub-surface flow constructed wetlands
- Short-term projects area
- Greenhouse facility for bench-scale research
- Plant propagation facilities
- Fully-equipped research and analytical laboratory
- Outdoor experimental ponds
- The Solar Ecology System - a greenhouse living machine wetland

Focused primarily on cold-climate constructed wetland research, CAWT also offers education resources, research support, project design services and more.
