1 Year, 1 Goal: The Job You Want
Start in September 2008 and graduate in April 2009 with one of our 2-semester Ontario College Certificate programs. Admission Requirements: OSSD with the majority of credits at the Workplace (E) level. Obtain skills to become job-ready, to bridge to an apprenticeship, or to continue on to college diploma studies:
- Get in on the hot construction field with either Electrical Techniques or Welding Techniques
- Want to help people in your community? Become a Personal Support Worker – many of our students are hired before graduation

GIS - Applications Specialist and GIS - Cartographic Specialist
- Fleming was the first college to offer GIS training in Ontario and is recognized and supported by industry and government
- First semester courses are the same for both programs, to give you an overview of the technologies and skills required for these careers and to help you choose
- You'll get hands-on training on the latest software from leading suppliers
- Plus, significant practical experience, leading to high graduate employment and diverse career opportunities.

Scholarship recipients honoured
Surrounded by family and friends, recipients of Fleming College's Academic Excellence Scholarships were recognized at a reception in Fulford's Dining Room at the Sutherland Campus on Thursday, October 4.
Established in 1998 by the college Board of Governors, the scholarship program recognizes outstanding academic achievement among students in the local school board districts as well as students who have excelled academically in specific disciplines. This year, 28 first-year students received $2,000 each toward one year of full-time study.
Frost faculty member wins LIFT Award
Fleming College faculty member John Knight has won a Leadership in Faculty Teaching (LIFT) Award.
The award recognizes teaching excellence at Ontarios colleges and universities. In addition to receiving the award, Mr. Knight will receive $20,000 over two years to encourage continued excellence in the classroom setting.
Rick's Mayoh's Story
Rick, a graduate of the college's Drug and Alcohol Counsellor program (2004), has been waging an ongoing battle against the demons that face Inuit society, a culture that has been crippled by high rates of addiction, abuse and suicide.
